**** Head of the East Cancelled ****
It with great regret that the Committee of the Head of the East has taken the decision to cancel this year’s event.
The combination of strong stream, further significant rain, water-logged ground and high winds over the weekend have forced us to conclude that we cannot guarantee to run safe, fair and enjoyable racing.
All entry moneys will be refunded over the next few days and we very much hope that we can look forward to seeing you at next year’s event.
Statement on Thursday 27th
The Committee of the Head of the East continue to assess conditions at St.Neots and monitor the weather forecast. There is still some uncertainty as to the timing, track and effects of Storm Jorge. A final decision will be taken tomorrow (Friday) at 1pm and communicated as soon as possible thereafter.
Statement from the Organising Committee
We are continuing to monitor the weather situation and river conditions closely. Please bear with us and we will provide an update on this later in the week. Behind the scenes our hard-working and optimistic team continue to plan and organise the event.
